De Aar Grid Connected 100.5 MW Wind Farm, South Africa
Sector: Renewable energy
Project type: Wind power
Client: Mulilo Renewable energy
The project envisages the construction and operation of a wind farm with installed capacity of 100.5 MW. Produced electricity will be supplied to the Eskom electricity network. The reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as a result of the project implementation will be achieved due to reduction of CO2 emissions from combustion of fossil fuel at the existing grid-connected power plants and plants which would likely be built in the absence of the project activity.
The first crediting period of the project is 01/10/2014 – 30/09/2021.
Total estimated GHG emission reduction over the first 7-year crediting period is 1 595 236 tCO2e.
