Increasing Associated Petroleum Gas Utilization at East-Tarkosalinskoye oilfield

The project aims to increase the level of beneficial utilization of associated petroleum gas (APG) by building intra-field gas pipelines and a booster compressor station in East-Tarkosalinskoye oilfield developed by LLC NOVATEK-TARKOSALENEFTEGAZ in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of Tyumen Region.

It is planned to utilize APG in two oilfield sections: in the southern section and in the central section. APG is taken from the field sections to the Integrated Gas and Gas Condensate Treatment Unit installed in the Gas and Gas Condensate Production Department (G&GCPD) of East-Tarkosalinskoye oilfield, where it is treated and then delivered to the gas transmission system. To ensure transportation of APG from the southern and central sections to the G&GCPD the project suggests building two intra-field gas pipelines and a BCS. The BCS output is 209.2 million cubic meters of gas per year.
The project achieves carbon dioxide emissions by replacing other fossil fuels with APG. Besides, APG flaring that would occur without the project is characterized by a high unburned carbon factor that accounts for significant methane emissions. So, in addition to reducing СО2 emissions the project also cuts down on CH4 emissions.
